People Portraits

Watercolor Portrait & Digital Art FAQs
i ) How long does it take? Please allow 3-6 weeks for a digital artwork to be completed.
ii) What kind of image can I use? Anykind! Digital, resin, fibre paper, negatives or slides. The subject(s) must be in focus.
People, pets and things can be extracted from the photo and placed into a new digital canvas or they can painted in their natural environment. Digital art montages and watercolour painting montages are created this way.
iii) Can I have two or more people or pets in the same painting? Yes of course! Portrait montages are a wonderful way to preserve both the likeness and the relationship between old friends.
iv ) What about scanning my own photo for email? Scan your photo at 360 dpi at 100% with all photo enhancements and dust removers turned off. Save the resulting file in a jpg, tiff or pdf format. Learn more about preparing and scanning your photo archives and documents...
v ) Extra prints? You may order as many prints as you like. You may also order them in varying sizes.
Image Enhancement & Photo Retouch
Wow! The photo to the left went from ho-hum to eye-popping with some digital art magic. The photo was scanned and retouched to eliminate the unwanted foreground chain and post.
The addition of a huge sweeping sky and its subtle reflection create the inspirational emotion and drama of Canada's east coast.
To finish the digital enhancement of this Maritime photograph, three seagulls play on a lofty Botwood offshore breeze.

Digital art fees are based on: 1) the extent of retouching or digital artwork required 2) whether the resulting image becomes a photo stock print or a giclée watercolour print 3) the size of the print or artwork

Landscapes & Seascapes
A beloved home away from home was the subject for an extensive digital watercolour landscape. The foreground tree, obstructing the view, was removed before repairation of the peak of the cabin began.
A rolling landscape of both mature and young snow-tipped pines are dramatically accented with a cool wintery grey sky.
A lightly travelled path beckons the viewer to venture through snowy drifts into the painting.
Certificate of Authenticity
My portraits, landscapes and seascapes are works of fine art, and as such, each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The certificate bears an imprint of the original artwork, the artist's signature, the date, the title of the print, the stock type, archival ink specifications and print number.
