Pet Portrait FAQs
i ) Any kind of pet? Dogs, cats, horses, iguanas, piglets, parrots, gerbils, cockatiels, sheep, snakes, lizards, aquaria creatures and complete aquarium environments... any pet is a perfect candidate for a watercolor pet portrait
ii ) How long does it take? Please allow 3-6 weeks for a pet portrait to be completed.
iii) What kind of photo can I use? Anykind! Digital, resin, fibre paper, negatives or slides. The subject(s) must be in focus.
People, pets and things can be extracted from the photo and placed into a new digital canvas or they can painted in their natural environment. Digital art montages and watercolour painting montages are created this way.
iv ) Can I have two or more pets in the same painting? Yes of course! Portrait montages are a wonderful way to preserve both the likeness and the relationship between pets who have been lifelong friends.
v ) What about scanning my own photo for email? Clean your photo with a few shots of compressed air. Scan at 360 dpi at 100% with all photo enhancements and dust removers turned off. vi ) Extra prints? You may order as many prints as you like. You may also order them in varying sizes.

PhotoPhix provides both studio and convenient online pet portrait services. My door is virtually always open... 24/7
Send your photo to PhotoPhix by uploading through this website or stop by the studio. If you wish to drop your photo off at the studio, please call ahead for an appointment. Studio hours vary with the seasons.
Mailing your photo(s) or disk via snail mail is also an option. PhotoPhix pet portraits and artwork are regularly Fed-Exed without incident across Canada and around the world!
Payment and Fees
PhotoPhix accepts VISA, Mastercard & Amex through this website's secure server or by phone. For local folks, cash and personal cheques are good. Please call for an appointment before dropping by. Studio hours vary with the seasons.
Pet portrait fees are based on: 1) the extent of retouching or digital artwork required 2) whether the resulting image becomes a photo stock print or a giclée watercolour print 3) the size of the print or artwork
